How many days are in a year — and in several years
A regular year has 365 days and a leap year has 366, with February 29 added. 2026 and 2027 both have 365 days; the next leap year is 2028. Which years are leap years
Earth goes around the Sun in about 365 days and 6 hours. Those extra quarter days add up to a whole day every four years, and it is added to February. The Gregorian calendar rule:
- a year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4 (2024, 2028, 2032);
- but years divisible by 100 are not (1900, 2100);
- unless they are also divisible by 400 — then they are (2000, 2400).

How many days are in 2, 3, 5 and 10 years
The exact answer depends on how many leap years fall in the span. Any four consecutive years contain exactly one leap year, so any 4 years have 1,461 days.

Because of that extra day beyond 52 weeks, each year starts one weekday later than the one before, and two days later after a leap year. 2026 began on a Thursday; 2027 will begin on a Friday.
How many months are 100, 500 and 1,000 days
People love to celebrate round numbers of days: 100 days together, 500 days smoke-free, 1,000 days since a baby was born. Converting them to months in your head is hard, so here is the answer for a count that starts on January 1, 2026:
