Effective date: 22 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ART APP LTD (“we”, “us”) processes data when you use TripGist, the city guide mobile application (the “App”). We are the controller of this data for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We process data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the App, to perform our contract with you, and with your consent where we ask for it (notifications, location, support requests). This does not limit the rights you have under the law of your country.
Everything you mark in the App — saved places, trip dates, visited countries, your support message draft, theme and language settings — is stored on your device and is not sent to our servers. The App’s widgets read this data on the same device. Photos downloaded for offline use stay on your device and are removed in the App or together with it. Trip reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; no server is involved.
On first launch the App signs in anonymously with Google Firebase Authentication and receives a random user ID. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number and is used to download guide texts and photos from Firebase Storage and to protect the service from abuse (Firebase App Check). The “Report an inaccuracy” feature sends your message text, the place or city ID, App version, language, platform and device model to Cloud Firestore — please don’t include personal data in it.
If you allow location access, the App uses it only on your device to show your position on the city map; coordinates are not sent to us. Route buttons open Apple Maps or Google Maps with the coordinates of the selected places; those services’ privacy policies apply from then on.
In-app purchases (where available) are processed by the App Store; we never see your payment details. Purchases are handled by RevenueCat (USA), which receives the anonymous user ID (section 4) and purchase history. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
The App does not collect your contacts, photos from your library, health data, or browsing and search history.
We do not sell data or share it with third parties other than the processors listed in this Policy — Google (Firebase Authentication, Storage, Cloud Firestore, App Check, Analytics, Crashlytics), Apple (App Store, Apple Search Ads install source), RevenueCat, Netlify (support request intake and storage), Telegram FZ-LLC (delivery of support requests) — or where disclosure is required by law. These processors may process data in the USA, the European Union and other countries; such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Data on your device is kept until you delete it or the App. Inaccuracy reports are kept as long as needed to fix the guides. Usage statistics are kept according to the retention settings of the services in section 7. Technical details of support requests are deleted after 12 months; the Telegram conversation is kept for as long as needed to answer.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent, by writing to the address in section 12 (please include your support request number if you have one). You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority of your country. Notification and location permissions can be withdrawn in your device settings. Data travels between the App and servers over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The App is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this Policy. The current version is always available at temfy.app/tripgist/privacy.html.
